How rankings work. Each completed map awards points based on your leaderboard rank for that map. Improving your personal best can move you up the map leaderboard and increase its contribution to your total. It works the other way too: because a map is worth what your placement on it is worth, your total can fall when someone else beats your time, even on a day you don’t play.

Overall Rank is your total points across all maps. Difficulty rankings place the best runners of each category into tiers: HT1 (High Tier 1) is the best of the best, down through LT5 (Low Tier 5). Tier cutoffs are provisional.

How points are distributed. The below graph displays the points distribution with a logarithmic scale. Points earned in the top 10 become exponential, with world record holders holding 40,000 points for a single map. This system greatly rewards players who manage to earn a top 10 spot on the leaderboard.
